Strong commitment from advisor Kim Sang Sik: Vietnam will shine at AFF Cup

Despite the late difficulties, advisor Kim Sang Sik conveyed his unwavering belief in Vietnam’s journey to the 2024 AFF Cup final.

In an urgent conversation with VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu, it was reaffirmed that the goal of the 2024 AFF Cup remains unshaken: to win a place in the final and ultimately strive for the championship.

“Although our carefully prepared new matches have not produced ideal results, our belief in the players and advisor Kim Sang Sik remains unshaken,” Mr. Tran Anh Tu expressed with confidence.

Advisor Kim Sang Sik also shared this confidence, looking forward to the upcoming training session in Korea, where he will accept the answers to the team’s new problems. He will focus on adjusting the strategy, improving the level of health and arousing the team’s serious spirit.

However, the judges noted that the road to the 2024 AFF Cup final is difficult, especially considering Indonesia’s newfound regional rise, due to their naturalization strategy. Indonesia have outperformed Vietnam, nicknamed “Brilliant”, in their last three meetings and have also left their mark on the world as the only Southeast Asian team to advance to the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
