Vietnam’s No. 1 female badminton player meets the requirements to attend the Paris Olympics

The badminton player made the announcement on her confirmed Facebook page on Wednesday.

“Hello everyone, who loves, supports and follows me throughout my journey, especially a year of focus to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics in late spring. Today, I would like to officially announce that I have been able to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics,” she posted.

“We should look forward to my second Olympics with me.

“Very grateful and respectful to everyone.

“Wishing everyone peace and health.”

Linh competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she did not advance to the next round.

Currently ranked No. 24 in the world and holding 48,350 points, Linh is 17th in the Rush to Paris rankings, according to the Vietnam News Office.

Her qualification for the women’s singles is assured as the qualification phase draws to a close, with the consequences of the remaining two not affecting the Vietnamese badminton player’s situation.

The Vietnam Badminton Organization is expected to confirm Le Duc Phat’s place in the men’s singles, which is expected to be reported on April 30.

Among the six other Vietnamese athletes who have qualified for the Paris Olympics, scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, are swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang, cyclist Nguyen Thi That, shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Le Thi Mong Tuyen, boxer Vo Thi Kim Anh and weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh.

Vietnam intends to secure no fewer than 12 spots at the upcoming Olympics.
